Leanne Lauricella felt she needed a radical change in her life after she had been working in the middle of New York in a high-flying job and the stress was getting to her.
"I often asked myself, "Is this what life is?" I was feeling completely unfulfilled and I knew there had to be something more", she said. One day, Leanne worked up the courage to leave everything and dedicate her life entirely to animals.
I decided to trade in the high heels for muck boots and my Mercedes for a classic Chevy pickup...
In 2014 she adopted two goats, who would only be the first of a bigfamily. Her husband was her support system - he, too, had left a Wall Street job to follow his passion and restore collectible cars - and he helped her change her life completely.
Leanne adopted several other goats, a pony, a pig and two rabbits. And as well astaking care of them, she also workedas a volunteer in a sanctuary for abandoned animals. That is, until she started her own association. Her new lifestyle makes her "happier than ever".
Some people have called me foolish or irresponsible for quitting my job without a plan, but for me, it was a leap of faith.
What started out as a personal goal to reduce the stress in her life, turned out to be much more. Leanne started an Instagram account where she posts regular updates of her adorable goats, and more than 340 000 followers' hearts are melted every day.
The young woman is trying to raise funds, vie her Go Fund Me Page, for the animals in need that she adopts. Her association, The Goats of Anarchy, is dedicated to helping goats in need and has become a very popular shelter in the U.S. over the past few years.
