A woman in Oregon is facing first-degree aggravated animal abuse charges after putting her pet dog in the oven and turning it on. The 28 year old allegedly thought that her abusive ex-boyfriend was inside the animal.On March 19, police were called to the home of the woman, Noelle Georgia Moor, whereupon they discovered a gruesome scene. The seven year old Chihuahua, named Bolt, was lying on the burner of the oven, dead.

The oven was off when officers arrived but one of the officers said that"the smell of burnt hair and flesh was still in the air". The dog was then taken to the Clatsop County Animal Control for further investigation.Moor reportedly suffers from schizophrenia. Mental health professions had been in contact with the 28-year-old in the past month because of several disturbances, according toThe Daily Astorian.
Moor was arrested while she was at Columbia Memorial Hospital after Tuesday’s incident.
