Liz Clark and her cat Amelia are two adventurers at heart. For three years, they have been travelling across the world's oceans in a sailing boat called Swell.

The young woman from San Diego, US, has always loved the sea and after she finished studying, she decided to gain some experience working on several boats.

Liz quickly decided that she wanted to captain her own boat, and that's when she found "Swell", a little sailing boat that she refurbished.But she thought she'd be out braving the oceans alone.Until in 2013, when out on her travels, Liz came across a tiny abandoned kitten who she decided to take under her wing...

Amelia quickly took to life on a boat, so it was decided: the two of them would continue sailing around the world together!

Liz went on to say:
I think she now understands that I will keep her safe and she will have a lot of fun in the end. She makes Swell feel much more like a home.

Together, the two of them have logged over 18,000 nautical miles!Amelia loves living on the boat and accompanies her human on all journeys. Once the anchor's down, she loves fishing off the edge of a surfboard attached to the sailboat.

Although her feline companion doesn't love swimming, she's always keen to accompany her beloved human on her canoe!
