This Sweet Little Cat With A Very Rare Condition Ran Into Just The Right People In New York

Buster, a little 10-year-old cat, was found on a porch in Ontario, New York last October. Clearly a stray, the cat was hiding his paws under his body and seemed to be in pain. The family who found him decided to take him toLollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, a shelter where Buster could recover from his rough life on the streets in peace.

The cat was suffering from pododermatite plasmocytaire, a painful condition that made his paw pads sensitive and raw. Veterinarians set to work treating Buster's rare illness, cleaning and dressing his paws every day. Despite the difficulties and pain he was dealing with with, the feline was more than co-operative:

He is gentle and affectionate, and definitely a purrer. His paws are healing very nicely.

Buster wore little mittens to protect his paws for a couple of weeks, before he healed enough for them to come off.The Lollypop Farm team explained:

His paws are feeling SO much better, and soon, he will be ready to find a family. He celebrated his cone coming off by getting a tuna treat, and lots and lots of pets from our staff.
