Ariana Smoak was quietly returning home when she saw a dog on the side of the road. Intrigued, the young woman parked, then approached the animal. Several little puppies then ran towards her, as reported by The Dodo.

Ariana immediately took the animals who were all covered with fleas and sick, under her wing and brought them home, before taking care of them for several weeks. She even raised funds to provide them with the veterinary treatment they needed.

All the little puppies, as well as their mother, managed to get adopted. All, except for Sunny. Ariana, having fallen completely under Sunny's charm, decided to keep him.

Sunny, a little doggie full of spirit, has a rather bizarre favourite toy: a brick. Ariana had used the latter, at first, to avoid the corner of one of her rugs from constantly folding back. It seems however that the little puppy had another idea for the fate of this brick.

From that moment on, Sunny and the brick have become inseparable. Ariana said:
We just realized as he got bigger and bigger that he would lay with it and found comfort being around it, so we just keep that one on the rug for him. My mom and I are so used to it being there we don't notice it.
