This Photographer Captured The Incredibly Rare Friendship Between A Wild Wolf And Bear

The photographerLassi Rautiainen has been taking amazing photos of the wild world since the 70's. Fascinated by the beautiful landscapes inFinland, he often goes on expeditions aroundKhumo, the region bordering Russia.Last summer, he took a series of stunning photos which revealed the most incredibly rare friendship between a wild wolf and bear.

A bear and a wolf are known to be hostile to each other in the wild, since they have similar prey so they are often predatory rivals if they live in the same area.

The photographerexplained to the Daily Mail:

No-one can know exactly why or how the young wolf and bear became friends. I think that perhaps they were both alone and they were young and a bit unsure of how to survive alone. It seems to me that they feel safe being together, and so every evening met up for their dinner.
