Eleven-year-old Bella Burton lives inWoburn, US, and sadly suffers fromMorquio syndrome. The rare degenerative diseaseslowly destroys one's organs and bones. It is therefore impossible for young Bella to walk by herself and to live a normal kid's life.However, thanks to her incredible Great Dane service dog, George, the schoolgirl is managing to forget all her troubles.

The Great Dane was brought up attheService Dog Project, a charity which trains service dogs to help people with limited mobility in Massachusetts. The pair met there and formed an inseparable bond.George now does all he canto make his little human feel better and due to his large size,he helps her stand and walk on crutches.

Supported by a brace on her dog's back, Bella can now confidently walk on her own and even go to school like a big girl! The two of them are always side by side, whether it's to the hospital for a check-up or to a theme park.
