Swans are truly beautiful creatures. But they are also known to be rather aggressive around humans. So when an injured swan hugged the man who saved her, Richard Wiese, it was a very special moment.A few years ago, the host of the discovery television show “Born to Explore” went to visit the Abbotsbury Swannery in the UK.Whilst filming, he came across a swan who had been injured after flying into a chain fence.

Wary at first, Wiese gently picked her up so that he could get a closer look at her injuries. And when he did, something magical happened. Wiese told ABC News:
When I put it next to me I could feel its heart beating and it just relaxed its neck and wrapped it around mine. It’s a wonderful moment when an animal totally trusts you.

It was as if the swan knew she was safe in his arms, and she nustled her neck around his thanking him for his kind gesture.

The swan could have stayed in his arms for hours, cuddled up next to him, but she went to the vet who patched her up.
"It’s a really terrific feeling when you feel that bond and mutual trust with this non-verbally communicating animal," Wiese concluded.
