Jimmy, an 85-year-old man from Puerto Rico, has long since been an animal lover.So it came as no shock to his granddaughter, Sylvia, when he secretly decided to look after a stray cat. However, she was extremely surprised to find that her online post about her grandpa started to go viral, reports The Dodo.

She wrote about the kind man's sweet gesture on Twitter, and received an overwhelmingly positive response.

Jimmy's wife had previously asked him not to take any of the stray cats in the area home with him, after noticing a large number of felines in their neighborhood. So the cat lover, determined to help, started a secret operation. He decided to look after a stray cat without his wife knowing. Sylvia explained to The Dodo:
My grandpa is really kind and has always loved animals. So it's not really that surprising.
Source: Twitter/@lillsylHowever, little did Jimmy know, that he had not just taken on one cat, but a whole family. To his surprise, his feline friend gave birth to a litter of adorable kittens, that he, of course, decided to look after as well.
Source: Twitter/@lillsylHe moved his secret cattery to the shed and managed to keep the operation under wraps for an impressive three weeks. However, his wife eventually found out. Luckily, she too was charmed by the adorable furry family, and agreed to let her husband keep the animals until the kittens were old enough to be adopted. They are all perfectly healthy and are looking for their forever homes.
