Lost and confused, the dog is convinced his best friend will come back to the spot where he last saw him and has waited there ever since.Over the past two years, the dog has lived on the roadside where his human died, despite the freezing temperatures which often drop to -5°C.

The crossbreedhas become known to local residents as Siberian 'Hachiko', after the famous dog who returned to the same train station in Tokyo every day for ten years for his deceased owner.When animal loverstry to catch him to offer him their help, he constantly runs awayfrom them.Anastasia Selina, an animal activist based in Siberia, told Central European News:
We haven’t been able to get anywhere near the animal. It only seems to want to get to its previous owner and as far as we know, they didn’t survive the car accident.

Locals in the nearby village of Berkut regularlythrowfood out of their car windows for the devastated dog. They even built him a kennel last year but it was placed too near the road and got destroyed by a moving truck last year. Thankfully, 'Siberian Hachiko'wasn't in it at the time, and a new one has been built for him.The dog's unwavering loyalty is heartbreaking and reminds us that man's best friend truly is a dog. A campaign has now been launched to capture the dog so that they can offer him the love and safetyhe deserves.
