This Corgi Saw An Upset Man At The Airport And Instantly Went Over To Comfort Him

Cora, an adorable eight year old female Corgi, was rescued in 2016 from a family that used her to produce countless litters. She suffered from numerous health problems, as The Dodo reports.

Following her rescue, Cora lived with Madison Palm who originally planned to only foster her but after falling in love with Cora's infectious personality, decided to adopt her instead. She then decided that Cora would make an excellent therapy dog as she was always so excited to meet new people. Madison said:

Cora’s personality is so amazing; she is a lover. She is always right next to me and always keeps a close eye if she’s not. If I’m not available she’ll pick the next closest lap to sit on and nudges your hand unless you are petting her at all times. She is SO sweet and that is usually the first thing people say about her. Her gentle and kind nature never goes unnoticed.

Cora loves running up to people and making friends while she's on her walks so when they both ended up stuck at an airport, Madison figured Cora wouldn't mind as long there were lots of new people to meet. She said hello to everyone in the surrounding seating area until she took a nap whereupon Madison decided to briefly take her off the lead.

It was at this moment that Cora woke up and made her way to her towards a rather somber looking man a couple of seats down. Before Madison could even call her, she was at his feet being loved on. She asked the man if Cora was bothering him but the man made it very clear that this was the last thing she was doing.

I asked him if she was bothering him and with a somber face and watery eyes he said, ‘No, no; I lost my dog last night.’ He scratched behind her ears, patted her on the back and was whispering how cute she was. He took out his phone to snap a photo and she sat directly in front of him facing him and staying perfectly still for it.

Cora seemed to sense that the man at the airport needed her love. This pooch clearly has a gift for love and compassion despite being unloved most her life. Madison said:

She knows who is hurting and she knows who needs her. I’ve never questioned that. I am blown away by her on a daily basis. Who knew a dog who was unloved for seven and a half years could have so much love to give?
