These Five Severely Neglected Dogs Were Just Saved On The Brink Of Death

On March 13, five Cane Corso dogs were saved by the French rescue group, Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis and animal protection services in Carquefou, France.

The animals, who were all between the ages of two and five years old, lived in deplorable and unsanitary conditions since they were born. Injured, starving and dirty, they were kept in an old barn without any comforts. Their owner didn't give them toys or beds, just bits of cardboard and wooden palettes.Anne-Marie Fraudeau, president of the Loire-Atlantique animal protection services, toldthe site 30 Millions d'Amis:

One of the dogs is completely blind... Another probably will be as well in a few years. When they arrived, they were covered in excrement and had skin problems from living in a damp place.

The owner agreed to hand over her dogs to 30 Millions d'Amis, and the five are now looking for a new loving family to offer them a forever home with all the affection and comfort they've been missing.A charge of neglect has since been filed, and the owner risks two years in prison and a fine of up to 30,000 euros (around $32,000).

Anne-Marie Fraudeau continued:

They're so sweet! Even though they're discovering knew things everyday they didn't know existed, they're adorable!
