These 29 Dogs Were Found Trapped In A Filthy Caravan, Ill And Covered In Fleas,

29 dogs were rescued from a caravan in Agde, a town near Montpellier in the South of France. They were saved by volunteers from 30 Millions d'Amis (30 million friends), a French animal rescue group similar to the ASPCA or RSPCA.The dogs, who were between 2 weeks and 4 years old, were found cooped up in a filthy caravan, where they were forced to live drenched in their own urine and feces. Their owner, a woman in serious financial distress, hadn't spayed or neutered any of the canines, letting them breed as and when they liked.

All were also ill and covered in fleas and worms, since none of them had ever been to the vet. After police discovered the situation, they called 30 Millions d'Amis to rescue the dogs and take them to their local shelter.Most of the dogs were Bichons and Griffons, but there were also several Labradors in the group, one of whom had a limp. Six puppies were found who were barely 2 weeks old.

Anne Askevis, the director of the branch, said in a statement on the group's website:

The dogs had skins problems which were causing their fur to fall out. They're now on antibiotics, morning and night. They were also crawling with lice and worms! One of the Labradors was limping, but she's doing better now, thanks to care from the team.

Foster homes are being found for the animals while they recover from their ordeal and if all goes well, they will be going to forever homes where they will never be mistreated again.
