The ceremony took place in Moscow.
The French Ambassador welcomed "this extraordinary gift" saying:
The puppy you are giving us today will replace Diesel and proves your friendship. Paris is waiting for him.
Last November, the Russian Interior Ministerposted a few words about the puppy's background on hisFacebook account:
This little dog is named after a Russian knight, Dobrynya, a symbol of strength, kindness, valor and selfless help. The puppy will be sent to France as a sign of solidarity with the French people and police fighting against terrorism.
Dobrynya still has to wait a little longer before arriving in France. She has to see out the end of her quarantine period which laststhree months. We hope she has a safe journey and that she will go on to become a fantastic and loyal RAID dog just like her predecessor, Diesel!Watch a video of the ceremony in Moscow where the puppy was officially presented to France:
