The Police Puppy That Russia Offered France After Diesel's Death Has Just Been Given To The French Ambassador

Yesterday, the police puppy which Russia offered France after Diesel's death in the Paris raids last month, was finally presentedto the French Ambassador in a ceremony held in Moscow.https://twitter.com/mvd_official/status/673864674102943744?ref_src=twsrc%5EtfwNamedDobrynya, the little 2-month-old female puppy was officially handed over byIgor Zoubov, theRussian Deputy Interior Minister, to the French Ambassador,Jean-Maurice Ripert. The ceremony took place in Moscow.

The French Ambassador welcomed "this extraordinary gift" saying:

The puppy you are giving us today will replace Diesel and proves your friendship. Paris is waiting for him.

Last November, the Russian Interior Ministerposted a few words about the puppy's background on hisFacebook account:

This little dog is named after a Russian knight, Dobrynya, a symbol of strength, kindness, valor and selfless help. The puppy will be sent to France as a sign of solidarity with the French people and police fighting against terrorism.

Dobrynya still has to wait a little longer before arriving in France. She has to see out the end of her quarantine period which laststhree months. We hope she has a safe journey and that she will go on to become a fantastic and loyal RAID dog just like her predecessor, Diesel!Watch a video of the ceremony in Moscow where the puppy was officially presented to France:
