Pet Alert Need Your Help To Find Lost Pets Because There's No Place Like Home

By

Here at Holidog, we know that pets are so much more than just animals, they are an important part of our families, which is why when they go missing, it is vital that you can reach out to as many people as possible to help bring them home. That’s why we want to introduce you to Pet Alert, a Facebook community which aims to raise awareness for missing pets. The page was launched in the UK in 2014 and has a single aim – to find lost pets and reunite them with their families. And they need your help!

The page was first launched in France in the summer of 2012 and in the three years that it has been active, Pet Alert has successfully managed to bring home close to 400 pets with the help of the 4000 French members, who share the posts from the page with all their friends, family and other contacts and who make sure the news is spread as much as possible! Each post that is published on the Facebook page has to be checked by one of thePet Alert moderators, who verify that the post is as informative as possible. Each publication must be up to date and include as much information as possible about the missing pet (breed, colour, name, age, distinguishing features), the dates and area in which the pet was last seen and most importantly the contact information of the pet owners in question.

Pascal decided to join the page as a “moderator” after seeing one of Pet Alert's posts, which had been shared by a Facebook friend, and said, “I thought that I could lend a hand”.Pet Alert arecurrently looking for more volunteers like Pascal in the UK so that they can replicate and continue the great work that has been started in France across the Channel. Yourrole would includeposting ads concerning lost pets, reacting to comments, sending messages and deleting irrelevant or insulting messages and comments. We know that with your help they can return even more lost pets to their homes and families, so if you would be interested in joining them as a moderator you can send them a personal message through their Facebook page.If you don’t want to join as a moderator but would still like to help, you can always like the page on Facebook and share any posts that are about missing pets in your area!
