Prosecutors say Justice and his partner Ashley Richards, 22, produced so-called "crush" videos for profit.Crush videos show an animal being tortured, often crushed, to satisfy the viewer's sexualfetish. (We do not find it necessary to post the images in relation to the cases, out of respect for the animals who suffered such horrific deaths.)Justice and Richards were previously arrested in 2012. According to court records, one of their convictions includedusing a meat cleaver to slash a Pit Bull puppy's neck, cut off its tail and slice its leg. Another case involved Richards killing a kittenby allegedly slitting its throat and stomping on its eye with her high heel.Ashley Richards pleaded guilty to three counts of animal cruelty in 2014 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison over the videos showingher torturing and killing the animals.Justice, a multiple felon, has been conjuring up excuses after excuses to delay his court hearings overthe past couple of years. He has now finally been sentenced. He went to trial without a lawyer, representing himself, but was officially condemned by Harris County District JudgeJay Bennett. We have yet to come across a 50-year prison sentence for acts of animal cruelty, so this is truly a record penalty. We will be sure to keep you updated as the case develops.
