Little Goat Comforts A Dog Who Lost His Best Friend

Megan Mostacci, co-founder of the Black Goat Farm and Sanctuary, took in a little goat named Jerry a few weeks ago, after he was rejected by his mom. The farm where he was born refused to feed him so the sanctuary gave him the loving home he needed.

Jerry took refuge at Megan's home, where he met Drake, an adorable dog. It was love at first sight, and the two animals soon became the very best friends in the whole world.

Drake, in particular, seems very fond of Jerry. Megan said:

He was cleaning him, cuddling with him ... just being there with him.

Unfortunately, the little lamb turned out to be very sick. Megan immediately took him to the vet, but alas, it was too late. His heart stopped while he was being prepped for emergency surgery.

Drake immediately noticed the absence of his best friend and his sadness did not go unnoticed. Dottie, another goat at the refuge, came over and decided to comfort him. The little goat came up to a heartbroken Drake and spooned with him on the couch.

Megan said, two days after Jerry's death:

Dottie has been cuddling with Drake all morning. She knows he’s sad.
