K-9 Officer Comes To The Rescue Of 3 Puppies Abandoned In A Bush

Last March, Georgia state trooper, Jordan Ennis, was doing rounds at a notorious stolen car dumping ground in southwest Atlanta, when he spotted something unusual.Instead of a vehicle left in the abandoned subdivision, there were three tiny puppies who had clearly been discarded in a briar patch.

The Georgia Department of Public Safety wrote in a Facebook post:

He knew no one was coming for them.

Thankfully, Trooper Ennis had a trusty companion with him: K-9 Officer Tek.Tek and Ennis pulled over and immediately got to working comforting the frightened pups.

The adult dog took it upon himself to take the little ones under his wing. And from the photos, it looks like he is pretty proud of himself. The pair took the puppies to police headquarters. The most heartwarming aspect was that all three babies were adopted by members of the staff. They concluded:

A Trooper never knows what he may encounter on a shift, but a day with puppies is a good day.

Tens of thousands of dogs and cats end up in shelters each year, either due to neglect, abuse or abandonment. Consider adopting before you shop, and visit your local shelters before going to a breeder. Every dog and cat deserves a fair chance at a forever home.If you live in England, you can visit the RSPCA, and if you live in the United States, you can visit the ASPCA to get more information about pets available for adoption.
