Stitch and Cookie. Source: _EasyBreasy_/Twitter[/caption]The pair of Labradors had a bit of an age difference, but that just meant that the older Stitch would have to teach Cookie the ways of the house. She gave Stitch a new sense of energy. Easton Dufur, the duo's dad, toldThe Dodo:
Cookie would always egg him on so he would play with her and they would take care of one another.
Stitch had her so well trained that they were able to eat out of the same bowl. He let her eat first, but she would always save half of the food for him.

That's why it was especially heartbreaking when Stitch tragically passed away at the age of 13.The whole family went into mourning. It might have been the hardest on Cookie though, as she couldn't really understand what happened.Easton wroteon Twitter:
This is Cookie’s first time alone. So since Stitch is gone, I’ve been feeding Cookie less food. Well before I went to bed, I wanted to check to see if she ate. And so I did, and she still left half of her food there so Stitch can eat.

The family has been trying to cheer up Cookie as much as possible, giving her lots of extra attention and love. But she is still experiencing a lot of grief.Time will heal both Cookie and her family, but Stitch will never be replaced in their hearts.
