And yet, since she was a puppy, the 10-month-old was chained up outside, covered in sores and fleas, before being surrendered to a kill shelter in Texas.

But the neglect didn't leave Aphrodite jaded. She still loves to give and receive affection. As soon as she sees someone she will nuzzle their hand and try and touch them.

Droogmans made plans to get her all the medical treatment and care that she needed to get rid of her parasites and on the road to recovery.Once she is healed up, they will have her transferred to New York, where she will be put up for adoption.
