This poodle was given a second chance at a loving home thanks to his new mom. The 15-year-old pooch is quite the senior citizen, and he has been through his fair share of struggles. He was homeless until just recently, thanks to the program "Operation Seniors" by30 Millions d'Amis(30 Million Friends). They encourage the adoption of dogs 10 years or older by covering the initial cost of veterinary care up to 600 euros.

The dog, whose name is Capi, was adopted by Françoise who is just smitten.
He was all bones. He was terrified and sad. He trembled even going to the bathroom during his walks. Today he is very well adjusted. He quickly found his spots... the bed and the couch! He is full of joy and life.
Capi had many health problems including a severe under-bite which was part of the reason it took him so long to be adopted. In fact, his original name was "Toothy," but Françoise did not want his name to be mocking in any way, so she changed it after a heroic dog in French literature.

He couldn't have gotten a more loving or caring mom.Françoise has taken in numerous abandoned dogs over the years, and she takes great pride in nursing them back to health.
My veterinarian says it's a miracle, but it's not a miracle: it's simply love. I love them, like they love me, unconditionally.
She took a video of Capi getting to experience a night in a warm bed for the first time, and you can see him jumping for joy.
So far, 30 Millions d'Amis has found homes for over 5800 senior dogs in France. You can support their efforts by donating here, or for those living in France there are still plenty more dogs up for adoption here.
