When Dolly was found on the street, she was a mess. She looked much older than her two years of age due to the scabs all over her body and missing patches of fur.

The people who found her immediately brought her to Vet Ranch, a clinic that helps homeless animals in Texas.Dr. Matt Carriker, the founder, immediately took skin samples and it was exactly what he suspected:demodectic mange.

In addition to mange, her feet were extremely swollen, she had tape worms and heartworms. But thankfully the staff knew just what to do.They immediately started her on medication to kill the mites that cause the mange as well as treatment for tapeworm.

Slowly, with love and care, the scales started falling off, making room for the new hair to grow in.After five weeks, most of the scabbing was gone, and she was healthy enough to be spayed.A couple more leaks later and she was like a completely new dog. Gone was the shy and timid girl, she became affectionate and re-energized with her new found health.
