Dog Whose 10 Puppies Were Adopted Just Wants A Home Of Her Own

Abi was a new mom, having just given birth to ten puppies, when she was found afraid and exhausted at a construction site in Miami in September last year. She was hardly able to produce milk because of her malnutrition, but the devoted mother refused to leave her puppies' side.

No Paw Left Behind Rescueheard about the little family and immediately stepped up to take all 11 dogs in. Abi was severely hydrated and her puppies were getting no nutrition; they would surely not have made it if the association had not taken them in at that moment.

The mom dog was very protective at first, and seemed terrified of human interaction, as she had been fending for herself in the streets for a long time. But slowly, her gentle nature began to emerge and she turned out to be the sweetest pup.

Alexandra Kalymeras, Abi and her puppies' foster mom, says that she was incredibly patient as her babies played all over her and nibbled her ears. She told the site I Heart Dogs:

She raised all 10 of those pups until each was adopted. She never snapped at anyone or any of her puppies. She was tireless in caring for them. One of the best mommies I’ve ever fostered.

By New Years' Eve only two puppies remained, and by March all of Abi's puppies had been adopted into loving homes.

But no-one has chosen to adopt the brave, strong and loving pup yet, and Abi isstill waiting for her forever home. Kalymeras said:

She is the sweetest girl especially now that she’s come into her own. Her personality really shines through. She is a lovable goofball.
