Jacob, an adorable dog, was involved in a potentially fatal car accident on December 14, 2015, when his owner lost control of the vehicle and drove into a tree on the side of the road. The momentum from the crash was so extreme that Jacob was catapulted outside of the car.

The dog was cared for by Dr. Deborah Kelloway. She described to The Dodo:

He was clinging to life. Air was leaking from one of his lungs into his chest. His hip was dislocated. He was in shock. He was bleeding internally.

Deborah, along with her team, did everything they possibly could to save Jacob and managed to get him out of immediate danger. Two extra operations were necessary to mendthe animal's broken hip. The dog's former owner lost all right to Jacob and the canine was then entrusted to the association,All Better Pets.

However, the police did not stop there and wanted to help the sweet animal so they organized a fundraiser to finance his ongoing care. Aaron Berube, Chester police chief, explains:

It was the right thing to do [...] It's nice he has a second chance.

However, Jacob still had one final hurdle to overcome, he had never been trained properly. He would bark and growl at other animals in the shelter and so volunteers decided to call in a training specialist to help the canine find a new home. He quickly came on leaps and bounds once given the attention that he deserved, but sadly, the dog was still not receiving adoption offers.

In the end, the adorable dog didn't have to look far to find his forever home.Jamie Wojtkiewicz, a veterinarian from All Better Pets decided to adopt the pooch and give him a new happier life. The young woman concludes:

He was pretty broken. It’s amazing how well he gets around now. He acts like none of it ever happened. My entire family loves him.
