Dead Llama Found In Plastic Bag After Circus Visits Town

On the 26th of April, a dead llama was found in a plastic bag in a car park in Gondecourt, in eastern France.A circus called Le Cirque d’île de France, which had passed through the town several days earlier, has been blamed for the llama's death by the local council, who have made a formal complaint about it.The animal was found by a traffic officer who was patrolling the area. It had been in the car park in full view of the public for a week before it was discovered.The city council have said that the body would be taken away by a butcher on Monday morning.[caption id="attachment_51875" align="alignnone" width="671"]

Source: Sudinfo-Gerpinnes[/caption]The local authorities immediately blamed le Cirque d’île de France, which passed through the town between the 15th and 22nd of April, and filed a complaint against them.Régis Bué, the mayor of Gondecourt, told local newspaper Voix du Nord (in French):

The head of our local police office has called the circus. They told him that the animal didn't belong to them and that lots of circuses with llamas were currently touring in the city.

The llama has been examined by a vet, but no microchip was found.
