Celebrating His 30th Birthday, Scooter Is Now Officially The Oldest Cat In The World

It's official. TheGuinness World Records havejust crownedScooter, this adorable Siamese cat, the oldest living dog in the world.On March 26, Scooter blew out 30 candles on his birthday cake,outdoingCorduroy, another exceptionally old cat.

The Siamese cat was born in1986 and lives in Mansfield, Texas, US.Gail Floyd, his human who he's lived alongside for three decades, explained the secret to his longevity:

In fact, Scooter loves adventures.A real-life feline globe-trotter, the cat has gone on lots of travels with his human.Together, they've visited 45 of the 50 U.S. states!

Gail Floyd said Scooter loves playing with her hair and always follows her around everywhere, clinging onto her shoulders.“Scooter is quite an amazing cat, with a strong will to live,” said the cat's veterinarian.However, Scooter is still not the oldest cat in history... That record belongs to Crème Puff, also from Texas, who lived untilhe was 38 years old!
