A teenager from Ontario, California, was filmed throwing a kitten off a roof and into a road at the beginning of December. The teen was seen holding her and laughing before hurling the kitten, aged around 4 months, into the street below.

The video, filmed on Snapchat, was posted to Twitter, where thousands of people reacted with anger and horror at such a horrendous display of animal cruelty. Local police eventually identified the suspect, who is just 16 years old, with help from internet users.The kitten luckily survived the fall with a fractured leg and was taken to Inland Valley Humane Society for surgery.The little cat, named Spots, is now recovering, although her internal injuries are keeping her in hospital. Her mom, Perla, who says she can't watch the video because it's so distressing, toldNBC 4:
I just want [the boy] to know he hurt a victim that can’t defend itself.
