No one knows how long Cotton had been blindly wandering around the streets of Royal Palm Beach, Florida.

But when a man named Joe walked outside his home one day, he spotted the cat behind his property. Cotton was eating out of the bowl he had left out for his own felines, and right away it became clear the the animal was sick and starving, reportsLove Meow.

Joe also noticed that the poor feline looked to have a severe case of mange. The skin disease had gotten so bad, that it sealed his eyes shut.He posted a message on Facebook asking for help, and Carmen spotted it through a friend.

Early the next morning, I drove to pick him up. I took him immediately to my vet, Justin Bartlett Animal Hospital, and they confirmed that he was suffering from mange, was very dehydrated and malnourished.

The doctor gave him antibiotics and fluids, and she was able to take him home the same day.He was able to stay in the bathroom while he healed.

Cotton was very skinny but fortunately, he ate well and was in good spirits. He must have sensed we were trying to help him and he loved to be touched.

As the days passed, the crust started to come off of his ears and eyes. His rescuer and her family soothed his skin with coconut oil and gave him lots of water.Until finally, one day, he was able to open his eyes, and surprised Carmen with one blue eye and one yellow.

His captivating stare was only one of the changes during Cotton's transformation. He also gained weight, and the former street cat proved to be extremely affectionate.

Cotton is very vocal and he would make noise to let us know that he wanted attention. He loves people and searches for attention. He wants to be where you are.
