After 19 Hours Volunteers Rescue This Old Dog Trapped In A Drain Pipe With A Digger

In June, Ziggy, a 10-year-old-dog with a habit of disappearing for hours at a time, ran down a drain pipe and didn't come out, reports the Dodo.

At first his family wasn't worried. It wasn't the first time he'd done this and they expected that he would get out on his own. However, after a while with no sign of him, Lauren Flintoft, Ziggy's mom, started to panic:

I was worried he might have been stuck and that’s why he didn’t appear. My husband Tim spent the whole night trying to entice him out and, when he didn’t emerge, I called in help.

The RSPCA (the UK equivalent to the ASPCA) sent over volunteers to help save Ziggy. There, they figured out where the pipes were and dug two massive holes to try and find where he was hidden.Once they found where he was and had dug a little more, they managed to free the frightened pup from his nightmare ordeal. In total, Ziggy spent 19 hours stuck in the pipe and was said to be a bit shaken by his traumatic experience, but otherwise in perfect health.

Faebian Vann, a member of the association, said:

He’s now back home with his owners where he belongs, and no doubt he’ll be getting up to no good again very soon.
