Her ordeal is finally over.
On July 28, the French organisation 30 Millions d'Amis rescued a young pup who had been abandoned in a dirty barn in Semur-en-Auxois, in eastern France.

She had been held prisoner there even since her owner moved away two months beforehand, forced to live in complete darkness and wading through her own excrement.
The poor dog was barely surviving after long weeks with only just enough food and water to keep her going.
So it's hardly surprising that she could hardly contain her happiness when her rescuers arrived with their reassuring words.

She stood right up on her hind legs, wagging her tail and letting out a few whimpers of both distress and relief that the ordeal was finally over.
30 Millions d'Amis investigator Farid says:
She went absolutely crazy when we set her free! She ran about everywhere and wouldn't stop coming to us for cuddles.
The organisation took the dog into their care and she will soon join the Tuilerie rescue centre near Paris.
"She's an adorable, affectionate dog", says one of the volunteers. And there's no doubt that she'll soon find the perfect loving home to help her forget her sad past.

30 Millions d'Amis have said they are intending to file a complaint for "abandonment".
