Amanda Tromp and her dogKyro have a truly extraordinary relationship. In fact, they've both saved each other in some way. Three years ago, the young woman came across an advert on Craiglist for a litter of puppies who were up for adoption.Ten little Husky puppies had been abandoned by their mother and they desperately needed a home.Amanda decided to volunteer and help raise the puppies: she bottle fed the pups and made sure the puppies all found loving forever homes.
Among the ten little pups, Amanda developed an extra special relationship with one of them, who she named Kyro. Totally in lovr with the puppy Kyro, she ended up adopting him for good. She told theBoredPanda :
Kyro ended up coming home with me because I couldn’t resist his chunky puppy belly!
But when Amanda adopted Kyro, she was trapped in an abusive relationship with her partner. Her violent boyfriend psychologically tormented her and sometimes even hit her.She revealed:
When I adopted Kyro I was trapped in an abusive relationship, in which I had lost all hope of escaping. Kyro became my excuse to go on adventures and escape the situation.
The two friends escaped together and started discovering the beautiful landscapes in the North West Pacific, around Washington D.C.
But despite her efforts to get out of the house with her Husky puppy companion, everything changed when her partner started to target his violence onto Kyro. Once the young woman realised her partner was not only a threat to her but to her beloved dog, it was the ultimate turning point:
Kyro was and is my world – I couldn’t bare to see anything happen to him.
So Amanda finally found the strength to leave her abusive partner who was threatening both her and her dog's happiness and wellbeing. It was a start of a new chapter in her life. She got back in control of her own life and rediscovered her passion for photography. And it was made all the better with her beautiful subject - Kyro.
Joined at the hip, Kyro andAmanda went off on their fairytale adventures with more energy than ever before. The photographer felt inspired by her companion and his look on life:
I have caught Kyro so many times just sitting and watching the world around him.
Amanda truly is happier than ever before. And all because of her bond with Kyro, herblue-eyed Husky pup.What's more, her photography has been a huge hit: herInstagramaccount has over144,000 followers!
Amanda now hopes that her story will inspire other people who need to find the strength to escape some situations:
It has not be easy to relive the memories of the past abuse, but my goal is to help inspire others that are in (or were in) situations like mine. To help others see that there is a positive after all of the negative and that one day… You will find yourself again. I found my four-legged Knight – who knows where yours is waiting. Where would I be had Kyro not come into my life? I honestly can’t answer that question.
